Sketching has traditionally been the domain of the creative industries, yet thousands of individuals make the career move each year from non-creative to creative industries, or attend drawing classes after work or at weekends. Sketchmob is a way for professionals with an interest in drawing to meet others from different professions to sketch and socialise. The atmosphere is very supportive and conducive to forming new relationships with others.
The rise of social / professional networks on the scale of Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn has removed the distinction between social and professional activity to establish large scale networking opportunities on a global scale. These networks remain, however, largely virtual. Sketchmob is real, with real people sharing their enthusiasm for drawing and meeting other like minded people on a large recreational scale.
